Nai Disha sincerely acknowledges the support extended by many organisations and individuals. We thank them all. In particular we wish to thank the following organisations for their generous and continuous support:

Smile Foundation

The Smile Foundation aims to empower the underprivileged children and youth of today through relevant educational, market-focused livelihood programmes. It tries to deploy the best possible methodology and technology for achieving ideal SROI (Social Return on Investment). The main idea is to link business competitiveness of the corporate with social development initiatives, also to sensitize privileged children, youth and citizens in general to promote Civic Driven Change.

Mentor Graphics (I) Pvt Ltd

The project named ‘Basic Education to Under-privileged children’ is covering 500 needy children this year. A special programme has been incorporated in the project for teaching grown-up children in age group of 10-14 years who had remained absolutely illiterate. Owing to their age, such children find it difficult to adjust themselves with crowd of children in age-group 6-9 years in the same class, learning the same thing. Learning has to be imparted to them right from alphabet stage and special teaching methodologies are being introduced. Considering all these in mind, a separate class room with a specially trained teacher has been set up for teaching grown-up children.

Samanvay Saath-Saath

Samanvay-Saath Saath is an NGO, registered under Societies Regn. Act XXI of 1860, 53431 of 2005. Its members include dedicated teachers, activists and concerned citizens.

Samanvay's aim is simple. The NGO uses donations to finance activities at partner schools in India serving students from poor economic backgrounds.

Samanvay currently uses the money it receives to pay the annual salaries of seven teachers at Nai Disha Education School, a free primary-level school for underprivileged children in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. In addition, Samanvay organises excursion trips to places of historical and cultural importance for students of Nai Disha.

Capacity-building of existing schools along with creating new job opportunities and empowerment remain the main focus at Samanvay. Since its inception in 2005, Samanvay has managed to raise and invest more than Rs 10 lakh in the education sector.

Samanvay-Saath Saath supported salaries of six staff members (teachers) at Nai Disha Free Education School and helped the school run an evening programme for imparting tailoring skills to empower young women. The Chairperson gifted a sewing machine for this purpose and arranged for volunteers to take weekend classes in English and Computers. Samanvay also arranged buses to ferry children and staff of Nai Disha School to places of cultural and historical interest – Akshardham Temple and the Indraprastha Millennium Park. Members collected 250 blue school sweaters and distributed them amongst those who needed them at Nai Disha School( Nursery to Class 5).

English language books along with some story books were gifted to the school library to encourage reading. A large number of toys and board games were donated by a member and were subsequently used as prizes to encourage excellence in academics.

Samanvay- Saath Saath continued to support primary education at Nai Disha School. In view of spiraling inflation, the Society raised the salaries of the six staff members. This increased cost caused a cash crunch in the funds. However members continued their efforts to provide gift packets on the occasion of Diwali. Members also gifted 250 blue sweaters to those who needed them at Nai Disha School. Stationery such as exercise books, pencils and crayons were given to some children. Buses were arranged for the annual excursions for the children.

The salaries of teaching staff were raised in light of a surge in living and commuting expenses despite a reduction in donations. The Society, however, continued in its efforts to provide children with transport for their annual excursion.
